Our annual food drive is just one way for us connect with our community and let them know that we care. As we have done in the past, we do this by working with volunteers from the Nepean Seventh-day Adventist Church to collect food donations for the Barrhaven Food Cupboard.
On June 10, we had spread out across the community and placed a bag at the front door of houses with a note asking for non-perishable food items. The note also instructed to leave the bag of items at their front steps to be picked up the following week. Once the next Saturday came, we headed out to collect the bags. It was a great turn out! We had cars coming back that were overflowing with bags, while other volunteers were being flagged down to give us more food.
A huge thank you to everyone that participated in the food drive this year! We collected over 280 bags for the Barrhaven Food Cupboard because of you!
