DOUBLE-UP CHALLENGE

This initiative happens around big holidays and encourages individuals to help support local businesses all the while supporting local shelters and homes. We collect gift cards from local businesses and double the amount with our own funds. The gift cards are then passed on to the local shelters and homes.

FAQ – Double-up Challenge - Christmas Edition

Double-up Challenge – Christmas Edition is a wonderful opportunity for the People Matter Project (PMP) ministry at the Nepean Seventh-day Adventist church to financially support some of the local businesses and charities.

Our campaign starts towards the end of November and runs until just before Christmas.

Double-up Challenge – Christmas Edition is a PMP initiative. A budget is put aside every year to match the amount of money being offered by church members and community alike. Once our budget is spent, we will still accept donations but will no longer be able to match the donations.

The PMP encourages individuals to give back to the community by purchasing gift cards from local businesses.

The PMP then purchases gift cards from the same local businesses matching the amount of money.

Then PMP delivers these gift cards to local charities (women’s shelters, homes, youth services, etc.) to help those in need.

This initiative not only supports local businesses but also supports local residents in need.

All you need to do is purchase a gift card(s) from a local business and bring it to our location at the Nepean Seventh-day Adventist church at 4010 Strandherd Drive. Check out our social media accounts for drop-off times.

There is no set amount to donate. You can purchase as many gift cards as you would like. They can be in the amount of $5, $10, $20 up to a maximum of $50 for each gift card.
